8.20.05
Hey Guy,
I'm sorry I haven't posted you any messages lately.
I started a new job and I have been in Florida (not
as much fun as it sounds!) for training. I got into
town last night and I leave tomorrow for Raleigh, NC
for more training. Today (Sat.) J-Dogg, Barb and I went
riding at McArthur. It was 95 degrees, so Barb naturally
overheated. None the less, we still had a good time.
The countdown is on!!! Believe me, we are all really
excited about your return. Just one more month, so hang
in there. I'm so pumped for you to get back!
Stay safe bro, and call us when you can. Hooorah!! (is
that how you say it???)
Love,
Nick #9
P.S. I keep trying to think of something funny to say,
but I guess I'll leave it up to my obnoxious brother
and his horrible messages. I have no jokes funnier than
his mistakes! LOL
8.17.05
Mike. Well you're almost there bro. I hope things are
starting to get better. They did it up right for the fallen
this past week. Friday is the big day for the trip up
north. A little preparation for the fall. I even grew
a beard for this trip, took me a whole five weeks and
man do I look like an idiot. You're going to be pretty
busy this fall with all the riding with the DeVitos and
Barb, and all the hunting.( I am sure that will prompt
Ashlee to post a comment, jk). As always you are in my
prayers. Stay strong warrior and give the boys my best.
Semper Fidelis. Denny
8.17.05
Hey Bro - it was great hearing from you the other day.
I was at a loss for words when JEANS called me!! Like
everyone, I can not wait for you to get back. Keep safe
over on the Euphraties (sorry no spell check). I think
I learned about that in History class once. I always thought
it was in Egypt?? DeVito must have been distracting me
in that class too. Well, I wish I could send you a Hooper
and a Sprit. I'm sure those MRE's are getting old!! Talk
to ya soon.
Love

8.17.05
Guy,
Sorry about the lack of post lately. I believe it will
be about forty five days until we are loading up the Honda
Pilot with all of our gear. This weekend I'am taking Sam
to Wayne. I guess I could probaly save us gas money and
ride on RT16 instead. I'am sure we will have plenty of
stories of guys ripping through the parking, on their
quads, wearing jeans and t-shirts. Barb will be chomping
every time they go past. Hang tough soldier before you
know it we'll be hanging out.
Tony
P.S. Nicole loves reading my post. By the time you read
this she will have given me a lesson. I just set their
and listen. (Nicole, that last past is a joke.)

Nicole
8.16.05
Mike, John, Nick and I are so disappointed to have missed
both of your calls last week. Wish we could have been
there to talk to you and tell you how much we miss you
and how sorry we are about the loss of your fellow marines.
My heart breaks when I think about what you guys are going
through. It was so good to hear your voice on the answering
machine and know that for that moment you were safe! So
many people are anxiously waiting for your return. Stay
safe and strong Mike. We love and miss you.
Martha

8.11.05
Hey brother. Good to hear from you yesterday. Glad to
hear you are finally getting a much needed break. Can't
really find the words to react to the last week and a
half, I am sure you feel the same way. But know that you,
as always, are in my prayers. I am heading to Columbus
this weekend, then leaving on that caribou hunting trip
next week. I ran some numbers for you, and hunting season
opens for us in 50 days, 17 hours, and 25 minutes (or
73,045 minutes). I can't wait. Take care of yourself and
give the boys my best. Semper Fi. Denny
8.10.05
Dear Mike: We are truly on the countdown to you arriving
home safely in a few weeks. Our continued prayers are
being said for you and your unit. This whole experience
has brought us together as a family stronger than ever
and we are proud that you are a part of our family. We
could not ask for a better son-in-law than you. I also
want you to know that we are taking good care of your
wife. You need to know that she is standing strong, she
is an amazing woman. Everyone has stepped up to make sure
that Ashlee is taken care of while you are gone. I don't
want you to worry to much about this because family and
friends have been there for her while you have been gone.
In a few days we will no longer be able to mail you any
goodies so we will continue to communicate with you through
this web-site. Please continue to make good decisions
be safe and please share with everyone there that we appreciate
everything that has been done for us in maintaining our
freedom. May God continue to watch over you and Lima Company
in bringing you safely home. Lots of Love Vicki, Bill
& Millie
8.8.05

8.8.05
Dear Mike: Just wanted you to know that our secret mission
on August 9th has been accomplished. Since your wife reads
these e-mails too that is all I am going to say for now.
I just wanted you to know that everyone here in the US
is deeply sadden by the recent events. It has brought
people together for the better. We have received numerous
phone calls from both families and friends concerning
your well being and your unit. Ashlee and I went to early
Mass on Sunday and church said special prayers for Lima
Company. Also on Sunday we had family bonding, girls stuff.
Your wife's (future bride) wedding dress came in and she
looks even more beautiful than ever in her new dress.
Your Mom and Paige were also success in finding dresses
for the wedding. You know this is going to be the event
of the year in Newark, Ohio. You had better be practicing
your dance moves. Can't wait for your safe return. In
closing I just wanted you to know that everyone here is
supporting you and Lima Company. It is an honor to be
a part of the Marine family. Our continued prayers are
with you. See you in a few weeks and not months. That
has a nice ring to it. Love you lots!!! The Miller's (Vicki,
Bill & Millie)
8.8.05
Mike,
We want you to know that we pray daily for your safe return.
We are so very proud of your service to our country.

Buddy, hey I went out with some guys the other night you
may know. Stralee, West, Bunker, and Camp, they are all
home now and doing ok. Of all have battle wounds and injuries.
I asked them if they know my friend Mike Lake and they
said of course. They all have stories to tell some I want
to hear and some I don't. We went out to a local bar in
Reynoldsburd called the Battalion 8. I am getting ready
to hold a benefit for all the Marines who died in Operation
Matador. It is going to be a poker run. All them money
that is donated is going to Stephanie Derga then she is
going to spread it out to all the familys that have lost
there loved one. It only goes to Lima Company. It is amazing
how much support I have gotten already. I have heard anywhere
fron 100 thru 300 bikes might attend. There is going to
be a live band and some awsome door prizes. I need to
get a hold of everyone from back home and tell them about
it. I know your mom and wife know. Maybe the Devitos will
come and ride their dirt bikes in it (ha ha). Aslo, the
New York Press called me the other day. They are doing
an article on Lima Company. They wanted to interview me
because on Dustin and I brought your name up also. They
said it will be in sundays paper so hopefully it turns
out good.
Coreys wedding was awsome. I was glad to see all the old
friends. Everyone was asking about you and sayed they
missed you. Your Mom, Ashley, Amber, Jack, Kristin, and
Stephanie all sat togethor. Of course I was interviewing
Jack because he is dating your sister. He seems like a
really good guy and I think you would approve. Well buddy
I have to let you go. I will talk to you later.
Brandon
8.5.05
Dear Mike: Our thoughts and continued prayers are with
you every minute of the day to keep you and the rest of
men in Lima Company from harms way. I have been at your
wife's side throughout these past few days and will do
so until your safe return. Just like everyone else I can
not express how deeply sorry we are about the events these
past few weeks. Continue to be safe and make good decisions.
Can't wait to see you next month. Love you more everyday.
The Miller's Bill, Vicki & Millie. p.s. Your wife
loves working days. See you soon!!!
8.5.05

your Company. Believe it or not but I'am lost for words.

We hope you are doing ok... We miss you very much and
can't wait for you to arrive home. We wanted to send you
pictures of Abigail, so that you can see what she looks
like. She can't wait to see Uncle Mike!! All our thoughts
and prayers are with you!!! :) - Jeremy & Georgeia
8.3.05
Mike,
I know the violence in and around your area has intensified
immensely lately, so I am wishing you the best. Stick
out these last few weeks and stay safe. We are all praying
for you guys and your safety. Although nobody said this
was going to be easy, we still cannot fully comprehend
what you are going through. When you get home, you'll
have to meet some of the people that I brag to about "my
buddy in the middle of it all". Stay safe and contact
us when you can. Love ya bro.
-Nick
8.2.05
Hey babe! Missing you like always. Check out the new pictures.
They are from Corey and Jennifer's Wedding. I hope all
is well. Next month babe....that feels great to say. Call
as soon as you get the opportunity. Love you more than
ever!
The wife :-)
8.2.05
Hey Mike,
Just wanted to let you know that we hadn't forgotten you.
Think of you everyday and are anxiously awaiting your
return home. Hope things are well with you. It won't be
long now. Take care.
Lots of love.

Hi Mike: The countdown has begun!!! Sent you a copy of
the wedding announcement from the Advocate today along
with some other newspapers. Enjoy the reading. Ashlee
& you make sure a nice couple. The picture in the
paper is one of my favorites. Of course why shouldn't
it be since you are my favorite son-in-law. Can't wait
until the renewal of your vows so that we can get more
great picutes. Ashlee and I have continued our manual
labor efforts at the home front, patio redo and a new
sidewalk in the backyard. The sidewalk will take awhile
to finish we have only 18 more pieces to lay including
digging the old ones out. It is amazing how buff your
wife has become doing yard work which she can't wait to
give back to the man of the house. Other house projects
are in progress which will be done by the time you get
home. This is my short update for the day. Continue to
keep safe and make smart decisions, we miss you and can't
wait for your safe return. Love you lots. Vicki, Bill
& Millie. p.s. seven layer salad is on standby for
you to eat to your hearts content. See you next month.
8.1.05

7.29.05
Hey babe!!! Missing you like crazy. Only a few short weeks
to go!!!!! I am so so so excited to see you again. It
has been way too long as I am sure you know. Girl's night
was last night and all the girls say hi and they miss
you. Wedding plans are moving right along. Dutchess is
a pistol like always. She misses her dad! Not much else
to report. Hang in there babe - only a little while longer
and we will be together again. I love you so very very
much. Hope to hear from you soon - call when you get the
chance! Love ya lots - the wife!
7.26.05
Hey Mike - Just wanted to say hello and tell you how excited
everyone is for September. Nick has planned the entire
month around your homecoming (something I'm a little jealous
of! :-)) We're both a little low on funds so we haven't
done anything exciting recently (unless you count pitting
at the Athens race in June exciting!!). I've recently
decided to go back to school, so I guess I won't be moving
to C-bus anytime soon. Can't wait for you to come home.
I'm glad everyone has gotten to hear from you recently.
And congrats on your promotion, even though Nick told
me nothing about it! Oye...what am I going to do with
him?
Love ya, Abbey
7.25.05
Hi Mike: It was great to hear that you have been able
to take a shower and get into clean clothes and eat steak.
So that you don't get the left out feeling it is going
to be 98 today but will feel like 105. That is hot for
Ohio. By the time you get home it will be your favorite
time of year and hopefully cooled off. Ashlee and I have
been working on the house getting everything ready for
your return. We had to shampoo the carpet because your
dog got a hold of a coke and of course she didn't spill
it on the hard word floors but your carpet. What a mess!!!
But the carpet now looks new after steam cleaning. We
are counting down the days. It will be great when we can
say "See you next month". I hope that when you
get to North Carolina you get a weekend pass so that Ashlee
can come see you. Bill was saying that the beach is only
about four hours from where you will be so maybe the two
of you can drive down to the beach and stay for the weekend.
Please let us know if you need anything before the deadline
so that we can send you what you need. Be safe and keep
the faith. The count down has begun. Can't wait to see
you so we can fatten you up. Our prayers continue to be
with you for your safe return. Love you lots!!! The In-Laws
Bill, Vicki & Millie.
7.25.05
Hey Guy,
Just wanted to say that it was great to be able to talk
to you the other day! I know things are getting to be
tough over there right now, but stay focused and hang
in there. You only have a few weeks left so keep the faith.
Not much has been going on around here. I keep thinking
of a funny stunt to pull when you get back, but to no
avail. But don't worry, I am sure I will have something
cooked up by the time you get back. Well guy, I wish I
had something funny or exciting to tell you, but not much
has been going on. I have been looking heavily for a new
job, as I ironically sit here at my current job and slack
off. Oh well. Stay safe and holler at us when you can.
Love ya bro.
-Hooper and a Sprit.
7.21.05
Hi Mike: By the time you are able to read this e-mail
you should be back to the dam. I am hopefull that your
life style has been improved somewhat now that you are
back from your mission. We can't wait for your return.
Your dog is a true lab very nosy with alot of energy.
I don't think she will grow out of puppy stage for a long
time, but she is fun. Wedding plans are moving right along,
however don't get the left out feeling there will be many
things that you help with when you get home so you won't
be missing out completely. Family Day is next weekend
and we are very excited about attending. They are going
to have it at a park and cook out. We will have a couple
of burgers for you and make sure that you have a good
time. We wish you were home. Miss you more every day.
Be safe and keep the faith. Looking forward to your safe
return. Love You - The Miller's (Bill, Vicki & Millie)
p.s. I just wanted you to know that you have wonderful
friends. Both Denny and the Devito's check on Ashlee on
a regular basis to make sure she is okay. They truely
have stepped up to the plate in your absence. Friends
like that are hard to come by.
7.18.05
Mike,
Hey! I talked to your mom today and she told me that you
got promoted! congratz! i am soo happy for you! 10 weeks
till you come home! i cant wait! We are all sooo proud
of you! I miss you soo much! Love you! Love you sooooo
much!
~Paige~
7.17.05
Hey babe! Missing you tons and tons. Not too much to report
here. Hanging out with the girls and working. We all miss
you so very much. We're down to 10 weeks.... the countdown
continues. I'm so excited to see you again! When you get
back to the dam give me a call as soon as you can so I
can hear your beautiful voice. I have a great surprise
cooked up for you when you get home!!! Get excited. Miss
you lots and love you more. Sending all my love - xoxox
- Love you -
Your favorite wife :-)
7.13.05
Mike: I wanted to let you know that the e-mail that was
sent concerning the underwear change was from my friend
Kaye at work. I guess she may have thougt you had ESP
and could just tell that it was her that sent you good
wishes and humor. Our family continues to miss you every
day and can't wait for your safe return. Ashlee has indicated
that it is official you can now try out to be the poster
child for underfeed Marines. How sad that you are soon
approaching our weight group. However, when you come home
it will be fun to cook all of your favorite dishes, and
fatten you up. An update on the DeVito crew they took
out your ugly bushes in the front of the house on Sunday,
edged and mulched the yard. What a crew!!! They were working
like dogs but they got to enjoy a few beers and a home
cooked meal by your charming wife. They really can't wait
until you come home. By the time you get back it you will
take you forever to read all of your e-mail. Keep up the
good work and be safe and we will see you soon. Love You
Lots!!! The Millers AKA the "Outlaws" or is
the that the "Inlaws". Keep the faith. Vicki
7.12.05
Buddy, I hope things have been going ok. I talked to your
mom today she said that she heard from you last night.
I'm glad to hear to your ok. Things have still been very
busy here. I heard you got a promotion, hopefully there
is a pay raise with that so you can pay me that five dollars
you owed me from about four years ago (ha ha). Last week
was amazing. Your Mom, Ashley, Stphanie D, Kristin, and
I went to the Pickerington 4th of July Celebration. This
year was a little different from years in the past obviously.
Watching those fireworks I could'nt help but get a little
chocked up thinking about all of you guys over there and
truly realizing that freedom isn't free. Sometimes it
is very hard for me to sit hear at home and live the life
that I do knowing what you guys are going through over
there. I just want to thank you again. You are a true
hero of mine and you will always be supported by me in
that way. No matter what is to happen over there in the
sand box. Enough of the mushy stuff. Corey's wedding is
next week. I will make sure to have a drink for you. Also,
I am going to tell all of are friends who don't write
you to get off of there asses and send something. Well
got to go.
Brandon
7.12.05

If you are reading this message hopefully it means you
have changed your underwear and had a burger or two. Vicki
just showed me the pictures Ashlee took during the concert
at OSU. We had a good time and certainly wished you were
there with us. The 4th certainly took on a new meaning
this year. We had to go out and buy a flag for our front
porch. We appreaciate what you are doing for us, our and
our country. Congratulations Corporal!
7.8.05
I just saw Ashlee's posting. Congratulations, Corporal.
You certainly deserve it. Semper Fi. Denny
7.7.05

am soo proud of you! All of my love...your favorite wife
:-)
7.7.05
Hey brother. I hope everything is well. Tell the boys
I said hi. Hope you got that promotion. Well, time is
dwindling fast, the months are flying by here, hopefully
they are doing the same there. It was great to hear from
you a couple weeks ago. You sounded good, still like a
girl, but good nonetheless. Take care of yourself and
stay strong. Denny
7.6.05
Hey Mike! Sorry that last message was so short! i had

Hey!! Yesterday i was in the 4th of July parade!! Happy
4th!!! I miss you sooooo much!! i cant wait to see you!!
well i gotta clean again!!
~Paige~
7.5.05
Hello Mike: We missed you greatly on the 4th of July,
however you were well represented. There must have been
over a thousand people at the concert and fireworks. We
set up a tent with lots of 4th of July decorations. Ashlee
made two wonderful presentation boards all about you and
your unit serving in Iraq. I took pictures and we kept
the boards so that you can see them when you come home.
Ashlee is going to post the pictures later on this web
site. A lot of people stopped by our tent and talked to
Ashlee about you and how proud they are of you and eveyone
who is serving our country in Iraq. We are counting down
the days until your safe return. Our prayers are with
you every day. Be smart and keep the faith we love you
very much and can't wait until our family is complete
once again. See you soon. Vicki, Bill and Millie. The
wonderful in-laws!!!!
6.29.05
WOW - I just lost my train of thought again thinking
about that picture!! I don't know what was more impressive,
the legs or you getting LOADED!! Was it me or did I
see a bag of nachos somewhere in that picture as well??
I've been thinking about you a lot. I have kind of lost
touch since I have been in Atlanta for the last month.
I only talk to those guys once every other day now instead
of once every other 5 minutes. I don't have anything
exciting to bring to the table right now as my nose
has been in the books. Stay safe and strong! Can't wait
to hear from you.
Love,
Nakita Ichisuzuki

6.28.05
Hey Guy,
I haven't heard from you in a while, so I hope you are
doing well. I have to wait a day after Tony posts something
on here so i don't repeat what he said. I saw the FOX
news piece as well, and it really painted a picture of
the area, people and situations you are dealing with.
We are all very proud of you, the 3/25 and the work you
are doing. I was hoping to see you on TV, but it was obviously
difficult to tell everyone apart. All of you have a dirt-staches!
Give us a shout when you can. Hope everyone likes the
pic of your legs! Take care. Love ya Guy.
Nick #9
6.28.05
What the dilly yo, are you seriously wearing boxer shorts
in that picture. Nice, I guess you got the legs to show
them off (ha ha). Everyone has been talking about the
fox news special the other night. I didn;t get to catch
it with work and all. Your mom said she taped it, so I
will have to get it from her. I took my home interview
with Columbus Police Department the other day. They interviewed
Kristin and I for about two hours. They did a tour of
the house, looking through all the rooms. They asked me
what I did for fun and I told them I like to get my GPX
3550 out and ride those hair scrambles. No just kidding.
I said like always to go hunting. I am set up for July
13th for my oral board interview after that I get my conditional
letter of employment. So everything looks positive, hopefully
I start the Academy in December. Well enough talking about
me, you be safe and I can't wait for you to get home.

Mike, hI how are you doing? Hope you are doing fine.Just
wanted to let you know that I am thinking about you.You
are a true hero.I watched Lima Co. on Fox news last night
I didn't see you but I was looking for you.I was just
looking at all of your pictures and they are really good.Stay
safe and we will see you soon. One last thing , GO USMC!!
Love your cousin, Samantha Brehm.
6.27.05
Model,
What's up Guy? Yesterday I watched the Fox special with
Oliver North regarding Operation Matador. It was a real
eye opener. I guess it kind of put everything I picture
you doing into reality. It probaly made me worry more,
but definitely gave me a new respect for the task your
unit is facing. I can't fathom the bonds you must have
with your fellow marines. It comforts me knowing that
they have your back at all times. Stay strong and brave
these last few months. We miss you and are so excited
to see you.
Where do I get legs like that,
Tony
(had to lighten it up a little with the sign off)
6.27.05
Mike: Well the 4th of July is quickly approaching and
we are busy discussing how you will have a good time at
our annual event. You are going to be represented well
by your friends and family. We made a decision over the
weekend as to what picture we are going to use on the
4th. We like the picture of you by the American flag with
the Marine border so that is the one !!! Be safe, just
like everyone else we are also counting the days to your
safe return. Be proud of everything you do for us here
at home. Miss you lots!!! Vicki, Bill and Millie. p.s.
Don't you think your wife is pretty darn cute in her Marine
t-shirt. She sure does love her Marine. See you in September.
6.25.05
Hey babe! I hope all is well wherever you are. I miss
you so very much. Had a good weekend - hung out with the
girls on Thursday and the Devito's on Friday. Everyone
misses you tons and we all can't wait until you are home.
I put more pics up for you. I sent the originals to you
in the mail so you can look at them more often. I love
you so much. Call as soon as you can. All of my love -your
favorite wife!

Dear Mike,
I unfortunately just finished reading Tony's message.
What a grammatical mess! You would never know his wife
is an English teacher. (OK. It wasn't that bad, but I
told him that I must now proofread his work before he
submits it.)
I am so delighted that you've been able to talk to Ashlee
lately. Hearing your voice is the best thing right now.
Luckily, we'll all be able to see you in a few short months.
We miss you and pray for you, Mike. Get home soon.
Love, Nicole
6.21.05
HEY MIKE HOW ARE YOU? I WAS JUST GOING TO BED AND WAS
THINKING OF YOU ALL NITE SO WANTED TO LET YOU HOW PROUD
OF YOU I AM AND HOW MUCH I MISS YOU. I AM LOOKING
FOWARD TO THAT SMILE YOU HAVE . I PRAY FOR YOUR SAFE RETURN.
HOPE YOU RECEIVED THE BOX THAT JEREMY AND I SENT YOU.
IF YOU NEED ANY THING EMAIL ME IF I CAN GET IT TO YOU
I WILL. TELL ALL THOSE GUYS THEY ARE IN MY PRAYERS AND
JUST TRY AND BE SAFE. SEE YOU SOON. LOVE YOU AUNT BECKY
6.21.05
Hi Mike. I usually send you letters by mail, but I thought
I send you a message this way for a change. Hope the days
are going by quickly for you. We are counting them down
here until you come home. As you know from reading the
boys' messages, they have been busy riding and racing
lately. They can't wait til your home so you can go with
them. John rode in PA last weekend. I think his goal is
to ride in every state! He had a good time but said it
was really rocky. He sends his love and best wishes to
you. We think of you everyday and wish this war would
end so that all of you can come home. Thank you for what
you are doing. Our country is lucky to have brave men
and women like you defending us. Be safe Mike. We love
you.
Martha
6.21.05
Hey Guy,
I won't reiterate everything Tony told you about the qualifier,
but we had a good time. Much better than last year. Not
too much has been going on around here, we're all waiting
for you to get back. I don't have much time to talk, but
I wanted to say hey. I heard a few good jokes this weekend,
but I'll email them to you-I can't post them here. Barb
has been in Atlanta for his job training and he said it's
really tough. Like you, he and his white legs are soaking
up the rays! I hope everything is going as well as it
can, and you are staying safe. I'll send you some mags
and stuff in a few weeks, just let me know what you need.

Hi Mike: I wanted to let you know that Bill & I went
to family day at the base with Ashlee and it was really
nice. We really enjoyed the company of the other families
that attended. Hopefully, you will receive Ashlee &
I's tapped message that is being sent to your unit for
viewing. They had a video set up for families to record
their messages to send. I hope you enjoy. We missed you
on Father's Day we celebrated by having a cook out at
Moundbuilder's Park. Ms. Dutchess was also a guest and
was very good for a puppy and didn't get into too much
trouble. Mariah asked if you were home yet because she
missed you at our family cook out. Of course she wanted
to know if she could spend the weekend at your house with
Ashlee. I think she would live there full time if she
could. Ashlee was going to try and post pictures for you
to see on the web today so I hope she got it to work.
Missing you lots. Can't wait for your safe return. Vicki,
Bill & Millie!!!
6.20.05
Hey babe! Hope you are well! Just thought I'd send you
some pics from home. Love you more everyday. Hope to hear
from you soon...your little goose!
6.20.05
Chach,
Hey Guy, thought I'd check in and see how that tan was
coming on those legs. When we welcome you home will you
make sure you wear shorts. l'm reminded everyday how white
those legs can be from that picture we have in our house.
The one where you are in your boxers holding a beer. (I'm
going to switch gears now because this is really gay.
Me talking about your legs on this web page will make
people wonder.)
Nick and I had a decent performance at the qualifier last
weekend. The first day we won our classes and finished
second and third overall B. I beat Nick by fourteen seconds
for the entire day. There were four special test and Nick
crashed on the first grass track, costing him approximately
that fourteen seconds I beat him by. On the other three
test we were within three seconds of eachother.
On day two, I was the one who fell in the first test.
It wasn't nearly as bad as Nick on the first day, but
it did cost me about the amount of time he beat me Sunday.
Five or six seconds was the gap we had between us for
day two. That isn't on one test, that is for the four
test combined. We tied in the four mile grass track and
tied in the two mile grass track. We started thirty seconds
apart each test. I think maybe we have been riding to
long together. I won my class and Nick ended up second
to Seth Patton. Why a pro harescrambler is riding 250B
at a enduro I don't know.
Anyway, I really hope time is going by qiuckly for you.
I wish I could say the same for myself. Nicole and Ashlee
have been having some enjoyable girls nights. Ashlee works
her tail off so ocassionally she isn't able to come. You
have quite the wife Mike. We all can't wait to get loaded
together and talk about your legs. Stay safe and remember
how proud everyone is of you. I'm sure Harmon will have
a hell of a time trying to figure out what I was talking
about in the first two paragraphs. Take care and get your
ass back here. Your very European brother,
Tony (ask Ashlee about this sign off)
6.16.05
Hi Mike. Hope everything is going well. Just wanted to
drop you a line and say hi. I got a couple emails from
Ziv. He is no longer with Itimar, Itai, and Ido. They
all got discharged, but he keeps them informed of how
you guys are doing through my emails. They all send their
best and wish you well. Ziv said there is another Company
of Marines going to the CTS at Camp Adam next week. He
got promoted and now is in charge of the whole thing.
I think he is doing what the guy with the beard was doing,
I don't remember his name. Thought you might like to see
some of the pictures from Israel, so I uploaded a few.
Didn't want you to forget what I look like either. Take
care of yourself brother. Semper Fi. Denny
6.15.05
Buddy, Just checking in with you. I hope everything is
going ok over their. Your Mom says she thinks you are
out on a mission because no one has talked to you in a
few days. I go and get fitted for a tux on Friday for
Corey's wedding. Finally chewy is tieing the not. It seems
like they have been engaged for like 12 years. All of
my friends getting married (huh). When you get back I
will make sure to take you to a titty bar since I didn't
get to before you got married. Make sure we won't tell
Ashley. That's right everyone can read this huh. She is
going to kill me when she see's this. Ohh well it's all
in fun. I sent you a package the other day in the mail.
I know you sayed you didn't need anymore stuff for a while
but I wanted to anyway. You can give it to your brothers
if you want. There is a couple of magazines with some
turkey hunting in it. I figured I would give it to you
or the DeVitos (ha). Speaking of Turkey Hunting if you
have time we need to plan a trip to Alabama or Kentucky
and see Johnny Ponder. Well buddy work is calling me on
the radio so gotta go. Smell you later.
Brandon

Hi Mike: How is my favorite son-in-law? We miss you lots!!!
I don't know that I can top Nick's picture. He was really
proud of himself being able to create a master piece of
you and him for everyone to see. Lots of food is in the
mail to you from my office, there is enough to share with
everyone. Ashlee is doing well enough she is counting
down the days until you get home. We are certainly going
to miss you on the 4th of July. We are all going to wear
our LIMA Company shirts and make sure that we stand when
they play the Marine song. Wedding plans on being made
everyday so that November 19th will be another wonderful
celebration. Looking forward to seeing you soon. Seven
layer salad will be waiting for you. Love you lots!!!
Vicki, Bill & of course Millie. p.s. Ms. Dutchess
is going to give you a run for your money. She loves to
give lots of doggy kisses.
6.13.05
Hey Guy,
Just wanted to say what's up. This past weekend Mom/Dad,
Tony/Nicole came down to Cincy for Abbey's graduation
party. We all had a very good time. Barb is down in Atlanta
for several weeks to train for his new job with Merck.
He is a pharmacetical sales rep now...Mr. Big Time! Without
you and Barb around, Tony and I have been suffering from
buddy withdrawal!
This weekend, Tony and I are racing the Athens qualifier.
Rumor has it that it will be mostly grass tracks. We'll
let you know how we do. I think Harmon is going to bringing
that brand new XTZ 850 he has been telling you about!
HAHA. That Harmon had us cracking up on here with all
of his "technical" talk. Well I better get back
to work before my boss finds out I spend most of my day
loking up racing stuff, opening funny emails and creating
photos for you. Talk to you soon.
Love,

Mike, how are you doing? sorry, for not getting a hold
of you sooner. I know your staying strong and can not
wait to come home. I am very sorry to hear about your
brothers It is a tradegy that so many young lifes are
being taken. You guys are doing the bravest thing that
anyone has ever had to do. I would like to say thankyou
to you and your fellow soldiers. You guys are TRUE HEROS.
I saw your mom a couple of weeks ago, she seems to be
hanging in there as best as possible. It has been extremely
hot here the last week. Just wanted to write and say I
am thinking of you and your brothers and say a pray everyday
for your safe return. We will put back a few when you
get home. Love you and take care of yourself. I will keep
in touch. THANK YOU. -Your Cousin Shawn
6.7.05
Hey babe! Miss you like crazy. Counting down the weeks
until I can see you again. I have some big plans for us
;-) Get excited! You would be impressed on the progress
being made on the yard. The patio is finally weed free
(haha). Can't wait to hear from you. Keep the letters
and phone calls coming - they are the highlight of my
day! 5 months to go till the big day (again)! See you
soon. All of my love and hugs today and everyday.
Your best friend and favorite wife - ASH
6.6.05
Hey Guy,
Barb forgot to mention that he loves his new gearing on
his bike. Dad added one tooth on the front and dropped
zero on the rear. It is great for the tight sections,
but the top speed is about 29 mph. Believe it or not Barb
was not lying about Nick knocking himself out. He crashed
about 20 miles into the first day and had no clue where
he was. It was like he had half a bottle of Svedka Vodka.
It was funny after we knew he was going to be ok. Anyway,
I raced saturday in the soccs series and Nick raced the
ADR enduro sunday. I won my class and was seveth overall.
Sounds decent but I didn't beat anyone worth bragging
about. Just your typical squids. Nick however got second
at ADR and said it was a bitch. I think he dropped 67
on the day. He said there was about 6 miles of road the
entire time. No thanks, I'll stick to getting dizzy on
a harescramble track. Nicole and I will be sending you
a package soon and i'll be sure to put a few race reports
in there, if you know what I mean. Miss you everyday and
know that hanging out will be here before we know it.
Thanks for being a hero, Tony
6.6.05
Superchauch,
Dad and I raced ADR's enduro yesterday. There were only
3 miles of road and it was an a## kicker! I demolished
my pipe in the first half, and entirely lost my front
brakes after the gas stop. I ended up second which surprised
me because I felt like a total squid out there. It was
tight and the temp was 90 degrees. Tony, Nicole, Mom and
Dad are going to Cincy this weekend for Abbeys small graduation
party. Then it's the Qualifier at Athens next weekend.
I don't know if I'm racing both days or not. Hopefully
you can call soon and let us know what is new with you.
Jeans said what's up. Take care.

6.5.05
Mike, whats up bro. It seems like things might have quieted
down a little over there. There has'nt been near as much
in the news about Lima Co. I guess it's like they say
no news is good news right. Stephanie and Kristin are
haveing a tough week. One of Dustin friends signed back
up to go back over to Iraq. You probally know him, he
is in Lima Co his first name is Bruce. So you will probally
be seeing him soon. I heard from your mom the other day
and she was telling me about Hop being in the hospital.
She also told me you knew already. I didnt want to be
the bearin of bad news. I remember some good times we
had with Hop. I hope everthing works out for him. I saw
that Stephanie wrote something on here for you. That was
big, she hasn't been on here since Dustin died. I keep
reading Nick and Tony's e-mails to you. I think I'm going
out to buy a bike, so I can ride with you guys. I was
looking at a qtw 6050. Do you think that is a good bike
for me (ha ha). I remember the time we all went down to
southern Ohio to work that enduro race. That was a fun
time. John-dog cracked me up he loves those things. How
about the time you let me take your old bike out for a
spin at your moms house. What I think I went about 20
yards before i dumped it. I dont think I made it out of
1st gear. Ooh man i'm loosing it. Those were some good
times. When you get back there will plenty more stories
to make that we are going to laugh at down the road. Alright
buddy i'll talk to you later hang in there only a couple
more months in the sand box. See ya
Brandon
6.4.05
Hey Mike. Team Nacho here. . . Well, I survived Michigan
bro. Can't wait to go up there again with you to see who
can get a bigger dirt stash. I saw the sandy hill that
Loadman supposedly blew past you on last year. Don't worry,
he didn't blow past me because he was still trying to
figure out where he was. He hit a tree on my bike going
80 and was on another planet. That goodness for Cycra!!
We have all kinds of stories for you. Whooped out!!
Love - 52
6.3.05
Superchauch,
Just wanted to say what's up and see how things are going.
We went to Michigan last weekend and had a good time...wish
you were there! I ended up with a slight concussion when
I hit a tree, and Tony blew kind of blew out his knee
(as a result of another of my crashes). Barb did well,
he was hauling on that 'Zuki!
I hope you are hanging in there, only a few more months!
We are all eagerly awaiting your return. This website
has been a great tool for your family and friends, however
you really can't fathom how much we really care about
you. I'm done being a knob, I have to finish prepping
my bike for ADR's enduro on Sunday. I'll let you know
how badly I get smoked! Call when you can. Stay Safe!
-Nick #9
P.S. Hope you like the
Pic!

Hi Mike, Not sure if you remember me but I am Martha DeVito's
sister. My son Nathan is also a Marine and got back from
Iraq Jan 28. I talked with your mom tonight. She is going
through alot of feelings that I can relate to. I will
keep you both in my prayers. Hope you are doing well.
Martha keeps me updated on you. She worries about you
and prays also. We are proud of all you soldiers over
there. I know it has to be hard work and I will never
understand what you have had to face. We love you and
care about you all. Hope to see you when you get home.

5.25.05
MIke, Hey just wanted to say hi. Hope the wisdome teeth

Mike,
I just wanted to say hi. Things have been a little better
this week. Kristin and Stephanie have been getting through
this as well as can be expected. I am working on a benefit
for all the people that died in Lima Co. I am haveing
shirts made and a lot of the bars in the area want to
help me put something togethor in behalf of the lost Marines.
I will make sure I save a few beers for you when you get
home. Your mom seems to be doing better this week to.
Her and I have been talking about every day on the phone.
I know it makes me feel better talking to her and I think
it helps her to. After Dustins funeral Monday everyone
went back to the VFW for lunch. Your mom and my mom was
telling stories about us when we were younger. By the
way I told your mom about the time Lar Dogg caught you
sneeking around the house at 3:30 in the morning, sorry.
Well buudy I will talk to you later. I am going to put
a packgage together for you and probally get it sent out
for you tomorrow. So keep and eye out for it.
Love ya
Brandon
5.19.05
Mike, I have never met you but i have heard so much about
your from Brandon and your mom. Your mom is such a great
lady and has been so supportive to Brandon, the Derga
family, and I in our time of grieving. Your mom, Brandon,
and Ashley miss you so very much and we all pray for your
safe return. Brandon was so glad to hear from you the
other day. It was nice to get part of the story from someone
who was there and actually knows what happened. I could
never imagine what you are going though right now... as
I never will but in honor of those who have fallen...
continue to fight hard and take care of those bastards....
we will be awaiting your safe return to us and I will
be honored to finally get the chance to meet you. Untill
then... you are in my thoughts and prayers.... Semper

Mike. I hope this finds you safe and well brother. I got
a letter from you today, it was great to hear how you
are doing. I know a lot has happened since then and it
has been a tough week for everyone, but your strength,
although so far away, keeps us strong here at home. Everyone
misses and loves you. Stay strong warrior. Semper Fidelis.

5.17.05
Hey, Mike.
I wish I could express all of my feelings. As I read Ashlee's
messages, I really got choked up.
You are such an idol to us. Not only are we (Tony, Erika,
Nick, Abbey, and me-not to mention my parents and students
and Tony's parents, etc. ...) praying for you, but we
know you are going to be back soon. I can only try to
explain Tony and Nick and their love for you, but beyond
that, I 've gotten to know and love Ashlee as one of my
greatest friends. She is one of the strongest people I
have ever met, so please try not to worry about her.
You need to get home quickly so that Tony, Nick, and Sam
will stop saying how riding isn't the same without you.
We miss you and love you.
Love, Nicole (or Cole)
5.17.05
Hey baby! I am so proud of you and all that you are. It
has been so good to hear your voice these past couple
of days. More than ever I need that reassurance. I am
sending you some great surprises!!! Be looking for them
in the weeks to come. Stay strong and stay safe. Each
day that passes is one day closer to us being together

To the best, most handsome, wonderful husband. I am thinking
about you and praying for you every minute of every day.
It was so good to hear your voice this morning. It was
such a relief to know you are ok. You are in so many people's
thoughts and prayers. I am so proud of you. You are my
HERO. I can't wait until you are home in my arms, safe.
Don't worry about me - even though I know you do. I have
many people watching out for me - Tony, Nicole, Nick,
Abbey, Erica, Lori, Denny and so many more are such wonderful
friends. Of course my mom and your mom and the family
are a great support too. You worry about you and I'll
take care of the rest. I sent you some great pics from
home, the new car, vacation and the dog. I can't wait
to hear from you again. Sending you all my love, hugs
and kisses. Missing you every day!
Love you lots - ASH

Hey Mike. Tony & Nick keep me posted on how you are
doing. I can not wait until you get back, it will be before
we know it! I think about you all the time and pray for
you and all the other soldiers you are with. Now for what
you really want to hear. Yes, I hit a tree head on down
at Perry and also chomped a power line or two!! I am saving
the new graphics for you. Better get home soon or else
the excels will be marbled out!!

Mike,
Nicole and I wanted to drop you a line to let you know
that you are constantly in our thoughts and prayers. We
know that these last two weeks have been extremely rough.
Our toughts and prayers go out to Dustin, his family,
and Brandon. We pray for your safety and quick return
all the time. It is such an honor to tell people that
my best friend is a marine serving our country right now.
I can't tell you how much I think of you as a hero. Nick
and I can't go a day without gel let alone not take a
shower for 3 weeks. I can't wait until you and Barb are
practicing starts together at stattens on Thursdays (while
the girls are getting loaded and talking about how hot
we look in our gear). Take care of yourself and know that
everyone here is thinking and praying for you all the
time.
love,
your brother pushing 30 and Nicole

Hey man,
I know things are getting pretty rough over there right
now so hang in there. In just a few months you'll be home,
so stay strong. My thoughts and prayers go out to Kristen
and Brandon and the Derga family. Stay brave but safe
in your perilous situation and always remember there is
a huge wave of support for you awaiting your safe return.
Love you man.
Nick

Mike,
I met some of your fellow Marines the other day. I hope
that I never have to go through that again. The Marines
that walked through our front door weren’t doing
the same job that you are doing. They had the awful job
of telling family members that someone had died in Iraq.
You stay strong and let God look over you. Until that
day we found out about Dustin I had a different outlook
on your situation over there. I have been talking to your
mom a lot and she has helped me get through this. I can
see it in her eyes that she is scared for you and puts
herself into Stephanie’s shoes. I know she will
never have to do that because you are one of the strongest
people I know. I want to hear your voice so bad. I wish
I could be over there with you to kill the bastard that
hurt Dustin, but you can take care of that for me.
On a lighter note when you get back we are going to do
some much more together. I know that we have had some
rough times together and more than ever I regret them,
but that is what brother’s do right. I want to be
there when you and Ashley have your wedding party, when
you have beautiful kids and maybe I can be part of their
lives.
I’m sorry to be so down in this letter, but the
way things have been lately it’s so hard to be strong
right now. Please call me when you get a chance. It does
not have to be long, but just to hear your voice.
I LOVE YOU ALWAYS, YOUR FRIEND AND BROTHER
BRANDON HARMON

Hi Mike. Hope this finds you doing well. Things in Cincinnati
are going well. I bought us some hanging tree stands,
(found a good deal), so we can get set up in the woods
as soon as you get home. I have been gearing up for that
trip up north for Caribou, been shooting a lot. Hope time
is going quickly, the chow isn't too bad, and you aren't
hiking too much. Give the boys my best. Semper Fi. Denny

Superchauch - what's going on...How's it going? (that
was from Nick - he doesn't like this because he can't
be foul, so I'll write you) He's in Cincy this weekend.
It's been about 70-80 degrees for two weeks and the the
weekend he comes down it's snowing. Nicole talked me into
going to Michigan next weekend with Tony, Nick Mart and
J-Dogg. Should be a good time, but a long car ride!! It'll
be nice to watch Nick race though since I was informed
he is only riding Enduros this year. How fun for me! Wish
you were here so you and Ashlee could go too.
Can't wait to hear from you...glad I was at the DeVito's
when you called:-) We love you, (Nick says Later)
